Finally a casual look from me! I’d say I’m 99% casual. The remaining 1% is when I have fun being inspired and posting outfits to my blog! My new go-to store for high quality, interesting casual pieces has been Madewell. If you haven’t already guessed by my posts raving about their Glasgow Satchel- I absolutely adore their bags. This poppy red crossbody is going to be perfect for spicing up warm weather outfits. The top was slightly harder to justify with it’s $98 price tag, but I decided to treat myself and I haven’t look back.
I like tights with skirts and I like tights with dresses, but the question is…do I like tights with shorts? Well, I think I do! I never wear shorts, but when I saw a model on an online boutique website sporting tights underneath her shorts I thought, why not? It’s funky, different, and a nice change from skirts and dresses. Since flats are a no-go with legwear (in my opinion, at least, although I’m always open to be persuaded otherwise!), I decided with a taller boot, as opposed to a bootie or slip-on canvas sneaker. Would you ever rock stockings with your shorts? Let me know!
By the way, my favorite bag is now on sale for $138 at Madewell!
One of the most interesting aspects of starting a fashion blog for me has been how rapidly my fashion tastes have changed. Prior to Seamless Sea (which was only six weeks ago, mind you!), I would have balked at wearing anything white. And pink? Definitely not. Basically, light colors were a no-go for me. I stuck to black, navy, and anything that I could have probably wiped soot-covered hands on and not noticed (ie. the darker, the better). As I’ve started to experiment more with the color palette in my wardrobe, I’ve realized how much I enjoy the softer, more muted tones that are dominating this spring. Thus, I present to you some of the items high on my wish list this year. I’ve actually already purchased the hat, but I wanted to include it anyways since it’s already come in handy. If you’re looking for a sunhat, I highly recommend it. The extra wide brim protects my face more than more purely fashion-oriented, “decorative” hats. I’ve never quite understood the point of a warm-weather hat that doesn’t provide any sun protection!
Also, who else is excited for Daylights Savings on Sunday?! It’s going to be lovely to get a whole extra hour of sunlight. For me that means more beach time and longer evening walks. What will you all be doing with your extra hour?
First of all, how amazing are these $25 pants?! They look super chic and you’d never guess I got them from Old Navy! I haven’t found something I like at Old Navy in over a decade (it generally isn’t my style and/or doesn’t fit me well), but this pair of pants looked adorable AND fit me perfectly. While I love the buildup and anticipation of purchasing something I’ve wanted for a while, sometimes unexpected purchases are the most exciting and rewarding for me!
Happy March! While technically still “winter”, just seeing March 1st on my phone screen, calendar, etc makes it feel like spring!
I purchased this sleeveless dress over the weekend knowing I wouldn’t be able to wait for warmer weather to wear it. Instead of throwing on a jacket over it I thought it would be a nice twist to layer something under it. Winterizing summer items is actually quite fun when you get creative about it. I chose this cozy burgundy turtleneck to give myself a little warmth. A turtleneck was surprisingly hard to find, despite the chilly temperatures, since stores are already preparing for spring (not that I mind).
Oh, and remember the missing waist belt from a few posts ago? Well I eventually found it, but after I took these photos it literally ripped in half while I was wearing it! So much for that!
