Seamless Sea

Light Blue

March 26, 2015

Seeing as my last three posts were titled “Sunflowers”, “Ivy”, and “Palm Fronds”, I figured I should break the cycle and pick a title unrelated to greenery (“Hedges”, anyone?!). Anyways, first things first second- I did not intend for this outfit to show my belly button! And it didn’t all day, except my posture during the photos must’ve lifted my shirt up more than normal. I still love the outfit, even with that minor detail. Taylor Swift must have some pretty crazy tricks up her sleeve to constantly wear crop tops and never show her belly button, I must say. I smiled reading one of her interviews in which she claims she doesn’t even have one. She was photographed in a teeny bikini several months later, so that theory was nixed quite quickly.

Ivy

March 22, 2015

What started off as a beautiful spring day today (and therefore the perfect weather to wear a dress and light trench coat) quickly turned into a chilly and foggy afternoon. Such is San Francisco living! You think you’ve got the perfect outfit lined up and then Karl the Fog rolls in and you need a complete wardrobe change. Thankfully I was able to snap a few outfit photos before running back to the car and changing into the yoga pants and thick, cozy sweatshirt that I keep in the trunk for afternoons like these.

On a side note- I’ve been searching for clear frame sunglasses ever since I saw Thierry Lasry’s version. Since I don’t exactly have an extra four hundred dollars to spare on a pair of sunnies, I was ecstatic to find these ones by Bobbi Brown. I had no idea that Bobbi Brown had ventured into eyewear! Many of her blush and nude-toned frames appealed to me, but with my mind already set on clear frames I stuck with what I had been searching for.

Palm Fronds

March 16, 2015

This palm frond print has to be one of my favorite prints I own! I originally only noticed the top and was slightly disappointed since I don’t wear crop tops on a regular basis, but when I saw it had a matching skirt I was instantly sold! I think next time I’ll venture out and pair the crop top with a black a-line midi skirt and try the skirt with a casual denim top. I’m definitely the kind of person who leaves new purchases in the bag for a few days with the tags on and the receipt carefully tucked away in case I change my mind. With this duo I ripped the tags off as soon as I got home and put it on for an evening out. And how lovely it was to have warm weather to enjoy it in! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

Tights

March 12, 2015

I like tights with skirts and I like tights with dresses, but the question is…do I like tights with shorts? Well, I think I do! I never wear shorts, but when I saw a model on an online boutique website sporting tights underneath her shorts I thought, why not? It’s funky, different, and a nice change from skirts and dresses. Since flats are a no-go with legwear (in my opinion, at least, although I’m always open to be persuaded otherwise!), I decided with a taller boot, as opposed to a bootie or slip-on canvas sneaker. Would you ever rock stockings with your shorts? Let me know!

By the way, my favorite bag is now on sale for $138 at Madewell!

Flouncy Pink Skirt

March 9, 2015

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! How wonderful was it to have daylight until almost 7 pm today?? It puts me in such a great mood! Cozy sweaters, fires, and hot cocoa sound lovely in theory, but in all actuality I spend the majority of the winter feeling chilled and restless. Spring means dresses, beach time, lemonade and all sorts of sunny things! The warmer weather also has me dreaming of going on holiday somewhere even more tropical than San Francisco. I’ve been dying to go to Hawaii for years now- maybe this will be the year to make that happen 🙂

I wore this outfit on Saturday to do a little bit of shopping around town. The Chinese New Year’s Parade took place in the afternoon, so the sidewalks were jam-packed and navigating curbs/signs/little children in backless heels was a test of agility and balance. Usually I toss a pair of flats in my bag and never use them, but Saturday was the one day I forgot. Lesson learned!
