I had originally wanted to go check out Tahoe today since I’m about an hour and a half away from it, but decided I should save it for when I can stay longer than just a few hours!
Instead my mom and I went to check out Scotts Flat Reservoir, which is only 25 minutes away from Grass Valley. It’s an artificial reservoir tucked away down a winding mountain road and was definitely worth the trip! The sparkling, turquoise water was breathtaking, to say the least There were hardly any people on the lake, aside from a few boaters and kayakers, since it was early on a Monday afternoon. I was told it gets packed on the weekends, but our quiet afternoon made us feel like we’d stumbled upon a hidden oasis. After checking out the pier, we picked our way along a rocky beach to an outcropping where we sat under a shady tree and enjoyed the view!
