True beach days, where it’s warm enough to strip down to your bathing suit, are a rarity in San Francisco. We were lucky enough to have a string of hot days here in the Bay, so I threw on my new Salty Mermaid suit and headed to China Beach!
China Beach is a lesser known beach near the very popular Baker Beach. While it still has a fantastic view of the Golden Gate Bridge (the main appeal of Baker Beach), you get the added benefit of more dramatic scenery. The beach sits below the cliffs of Land’s End, which you can see in the background in the photo above. Land’s End, as I’ve mentioned many times before, is one of my favorite places to go for a casual hike in the city!
Since it was such a hot day, there were lots of people lounging on the beach and bodysurfing (the waves within the channel of the bay aren’t the surfing type- you’ll have to go to Ocean Beach, around the corner of Land’s End, for that). Quite a few people were brave enough to go out in the water without wetsuits on, although I think quite a few of them were triathlon swimmers! The water never gets much above 54 degrees, so you can bet that I stayed on the sand to enjoy my new bikini. I got numerous compliments on how cute the ‘Merbabe‘ saying was. I love that the fit of the top is a little more sporty, since I tend to go for more coverage up top. Salty Mermaid has a ton of cute suits in fun colors, so be sure to check them out!
Also, the rose gold shark tooth necklace I’m wearing is my go-to necklace for everyday wear! I wear my chakra bracelet at all times too, unless I’m taking blog photos or sleeping. Neither has made an appearance on my blog before, so I thought I’d mention that 😉
