Today I went to my first pick-your-own-pumpkin patch!
Any pumpkin patch I had previously been to was the standard patch- walk around the rows of pre-picked pumpkins, choose your little guy, and be on your merry way. This patch, however, was totally legit! You caught a hay ride from the entrance, which took a bumpy path past cow pastures and corn fields, until you reached hills planted with pumpkins as far as your eye could see. There were seriously thousands of pumpkins! After I found my perfect pumpkin, I got to twist him off the vine, take the hay ride back, and get him weighed!
The farm also had a petting zoo (I didn’t realize how much I love donkeys- I’ve been talking about them all day!), super slides, a hay maze, pumpkin blasters, pony rides, and a lot more! And cool donkey fact of the day- did you know that donkeys are placed in cow pastures in order to protect the calves? Apparently donkeys hate coyotes, and they’ll protect the calves by killing the coyotes and bringing them to the farmer’s door! Crazy, huh?
I also picked up some white pumpkins to do this little DIY sequin pumpkin project!
